Democrats Bite Democrats, II

Rumors of Congressional Democrats privately expressing disapproval of the Obama administration's actions and policies have been given more credence by such things as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's public criticism of White House spokesman Robert Gibbs. But when two long-time Democratic pollsters, Patrick Cad-dell and Douglas Schoen, called President Obama “cynical” and “racially divisive,” that was a dramatic statement. It was like saying that the emperor has no clothes.

Democrats act as if the right to run across the border when you're 8 1/2 months pregnant, give birth in a U.S. hospital and then immediately start collecting welfare was exactly what our forebears had in mind, a sacred constitutional right, as old as the 14th Amendment itself.
The louder liberals talk about some ancient constitutional right, the surer you should be that it was invented in the last few decades.

Off The Top: What Ever Happened to Common Sense?

Whatever happened to common sense?

I’m a pragmatist, I admit. Not that I haven’t flown off and done something impulsive now and then. And on occasion I’ve purchased something for which I had absolutely no practical use. But for the most part, life needs to make sense for me to deal with it. And lately it doesn’t seem to make much sense at all.

No Decision On Property Cleanup

At the August 3 meeting of the Magnolia Board of Aldermen, a lively discussion was held between board members concerning the cleaning of property located in north Magno-lia. Percy and Linda McGowan of 245 Mea-dowood Circle did not show up at the board workshop, which is normal policy, but desired to address the board. According to board procedures, issues pertaining to individuals are normally addressed at the work session.
Alderman James Jones made a motion to have the McGowans speak to the board. They were allowed five minutes to express their views.

Offshore Drilling Bills Put Jobs At Risk

U.S. Representative Gregg Harper (R–Miss.) opposed two bills today that would lead to a halt in offshore drilling.

“As millions of unemployed Americans search for jobs, the White House and some Members of Congress are determined to advance regulations and policies that will put tens of thousands of those in the oil industry out of work,” said Congressman Gregg Harper. “The White House ignored industry experts, a federal judge, and pleas from Members of Congress when it issued yet another moratorium on deepwater drilling.”

Democrats Bite Democrats

You expect Republican politicians to criticize Democratic administrations and vice versa. But when Democrats start criticizing Democratic administrations, that is news. Someone once said that the headline "Dog bites Man" is not news, but "Man bites Dog" is. We are now starting to get "Democrat bites Democrat" news.
Long-time Democratic pollsters Patrick Caddell and Douglas Schoen last week took on one of President Barack Obama's most bitter betrayals of his campaign rhetoric and the high hopes of people who voted for him.
