Prayer for the Country

With Memorial Day just passed and The Fourth of July soon to be, my thoughts go to the words spoken by the sixteenth President of the United States about 150 years ago. President Abraham Lincoln spoke of our great country and how we may have been falling away from the grace of God and jeopardizing the blessings God poured upon this wonderful, beautiful land and what we should do to put a stop to this self-sufficient attitude. I hope you agree we need to take heed to his words even more today. Here they are:

The Oil Spill in OUR Gulf

Our present Socialist Federal Administration is prepared to cease drilling for oil in the Gulf of Mexico. An area which provides about 35 percent of our energy needs. Americans should understand better why Rush Limbaugh said that he wants President Obama to fail in his effort to Socialize our Government. The Gulf Wells have been relatively safe from environmental spills and serious accidents. In the early sixties I was stationed in Sasebo Japan and read an article about an accident in the gulf in the Stars and Stripes news print.

Tea Party Victories...

Voters across our country are expressing their discontent witht he currrent national leadership. "throw the bums out: appears to be a rising national mantra. On Tuesday, Pennsylvania Democrats voted five term U. S. Senator Arlen Spector out of office, and Kentucky Republicans elected as their U. S. Senate candidate physician Rand Paul, who, with Tea Party support, defeated the GOP regular Trey Grayson. This no doubt is a trend which will continue to blossom.

Illegal Aliens And The Democrats

Mexicans and other Latinos were brought to The United States due to their work habits. Our labor force which worked the big farms in California and Florida would not work for a farmer who would pay less than welfare payments. It’s a sad story, the National Democratic Party created a class of people who would go through life existing on the goodies their congressman would provide for them. At that point the Mexicans and American Farmers made a deal. The farmers build compounds mostly in California and Florida to provide shelter for Mexican Labor.

"Think Children-Think Vouchers" Thoughts On Our Public School System

One of the proposed cuts to our state budget has been to lock down the public school system for FIVE DAYS. Does that mean that our public school children cannot be exposed to in-home schooling for FIVE DAYS? Please get serious about educating our children. Those of you who have problems teaching a child vocabulary words (including Clarion-Ledger cartoonist Marshall Ramsey) should contact a home school practitioner in your neighborhood for instructions! Public schools should be a tool to help parents educate their children.

Voter ID: Computers Can Simplify

Remembering The Holocaust

From April 11 through April 18, the United States Holocaust Museum is leading the nation's annual Days of Remembrance commemorating the six million Jews murdered in the Holocause as well as the millions of other victims of Nazi persecution.
This year marks the 65th anniversary of the end of World War II, and the museum will pay tribute to the U.S. soldiers who helped defeat Nazi Germany and liberate Holocaust survivors from years of suffering. These stories of freedom remind one that individuals have the power to make a difference. What we do----or choose not to do---matters.

Live from East Fork! What To do About ATVs...

Our Legislature is at it again-What to do about death and destruction caused by the use of high speed All terrain Vehicles. If Sheriffs carried out the dictates of the legislature to deny public road access to ATVs they would be voted out of office in the next election. I have an ATV which has a maximum speed of fifteen miles per hour. The ATV provides many hours of entertainment for my children and a great platform for the hunters in the family. Ladies in the family love the machine. Turn on the switch key, mash the accelerator and away you go.

Fix Healtcare Incrementally

We agree with President Obama that significant changes are needed with healthcare in the USA. We disagree on his plan: too much government and too little fix. Reform insurance (pre-existing illnesses), medical education, and Medicare by consensus and bipartisanship.
