Old Magnolia Home Moved To New Site To Make Way For New South Pike Junior High

Click for More

It took a while, and some very hard work, but the old Anders house, which was located right across from South Pike High School on Myrtle Street on the site of the new junior high school, has found a new home. No matter how hard it tried, the house across from South Pike High School could not be moved. As it traveled on Myrtle Street and got to the corner of North Prewett and Myrtle, it couldn't go any further. The house was, lets just say, a tad too wide. The Anders house did not look that big, but when it was being hauled away, one realized just how big and long the house was. So the only thing to do was, take a little off the side. The side of the house behind the utility pole in the photo above was removed so the house would fit.
