Pictured above are Cathy Leibenguth, member of the Magnolia Pilgrimage Club and James Harris, vice-president of the Pike county Historical Society,for the official laying of wreaths dedication to comemorate Confederate Memorial Day and in conjunction with Confederate History Month. The wreaths were place in the Confederate portion of the cemetery to honor the 200 plus confederate soldiers that died at the Confederate hospital that had been set up in the Central House Hotel, but also honors the Confederate individuals buries elsewhere in their family plots.

Local Tea Party Planned

The Southwest Mississippi Tea party will hold their first meeting on Thursday, May 6, at 7 p.m. in the Magnolia Electric Power Association auditorium, located at 3012 Hwy. 98 East, McComb.

Former Mayor Receives 60 Year Pin

Longtime Magnolia Mayor Sam Owens received his 60 year Masonic Lodge pin at a ceremony held at the Sincerity Lodge, Magnolia, Monday night. He joined the Masonic Lodge #392 in the 1950's then moved his membership to Lodge #214 in the 1960's. According to Owens, "The membership has been truly wonderful and full of joy."

Anthology Play A Hoot

The Magnolia Pilgrimage Club, directed by Jimmy Harris, presented an Anthology play and dinner last Saturday night at the historic Magnolia Depot. By all the laughs from the audience, the play was roaring success. The play revolved around Ester and Amber Deveroux, who loved Magnolia so much they opened a Creole Coffee Shop, and Magnolia residents who visited the shop for coffee with the "recipe." Folks could hear laughter coming from the Depot from all over town.
