South Pike High School:
50th Class Reunion
Judy Causey Love
The South Pike High School Class of 1972 celebrated a two-day reunion October 21-22 and spent time together reminiscing, eating, watching football and retelling stories. Many classmates plus their spouses and friends, arrived in Pike County from as far away as Nevada, Arizona and Kentucky to enjoy seeing one another and catching up after many years apart.
The first night a meal was held at Mr. Whiskers out from McComb. The second night, they gathered again at ‘The Barn’, a beautiful event center owned by Nikki and Barry Smith, daughter and son-in-law of Lanelle and Buddy Blailock, located at 4059 Centerville Rd., East of Magnolia. This gathering was catered by La Mariposa Café in Magnolia, but also included many pies, cakes and cookies, and other desserts made by some of the classmates.
Some of the many classmates present were Delilah Alford Shandy, John Hudson, Christie McCrimmon, Stuart Hemphill, Bill Broyles, Lloyd Allen, Robbie Gwin, Debbie Crawford Smith, Lannelle Lang Blailock, Tommy Freeman, Janet Coker Honea, Danny Boyd, Judy Lee McGehee, Alberta Powell Lampton, Theresa M. Humphrey, Craig McGee, Leonard Cowart and Artie Huff.
Other included Vaughn Lampton, Judy Causey Love, Ted Love, Mickey Burris, Buddy Blailock, Sharon McCrimmon, Candy Broyles, Mrs. Tommy Freeman and her brother, and Gary Honea.
They group plans to hold another reunion at the same event center in 2027.
