Mr. Alious Lee, 86, of Liberty, departed this earthly life on February 12, at Camellia Estates in McComb. Services will be held on March 1, at 11AM at Tickfaw Missionary Baptist Church. Rev. Edward M. Boss Pastor and Officiant interment following in the church cemetery.
Alious Douglas Lee was born on January 29, 1939, in Amite County, to Alex and Etta Anita Lee. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Etta Anita Lee; his former wife, Mary Ellen Lee; his son, Bruce Delaney Lee; and his brother, Charles Edward Lee.
At an early age, Alious professed his faith in Christ and became a Tickfaw Missionary Baptist Church member. Alious graduated from Europe Bates High School in 1957. After graduating, he moved to New Orleans, Louisiana.
Alious held the following jobs in New Orleans, LA: stock clerk at Puglia Grocery Store on St. Claude Avenue from 1957 to 1965, and factory line worker at American Standard Manufacturing on Franklin Avenue from 1965 to 1984. When American Standard relocated overseas for cheaper labor in the 1980s, Alious attended Sidney Collier Vocational School on Louisa Street, where he studied Heating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration. From 1987 to 2005, he worked part-time as a security guard at Chalmette Oil Refinery on St. Bernard Highway. After Hurricane Katrina in 2005, he relocated to Liberty, MS, and reestablished his membership at Tickfaw Missionary Baptist Church, where he remained an active member until his passing.
Left to cherish Alious' memory are 2 children, Wayne Fairway Anthony Lee, and Deadra Lee Ellis; daughters-in-law, Katayoun (Kathy) Lee and Cheryl Lee, and son-in-law, Ernest C. Ellis Jr.; 6 grandchildren: Alexandria E. Lee, Ellen C. Elloie, Zoe T. Bishop, Noah A. Lee, Ernest C. Ellis III, and Jillian D. Lee. His siblings include Alice Faye Davis, Loesther Singleton, and Annette Robinson (Mitchell), as well as Jennette Alexander (McKinley), Thomas (Janice), and Darrell Lee. Many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends will also remember Alious.
