Bert Cockerham Jr.

Bert Cockerham Jr. 1939 - 2025 Bert Cockerham, Jr., 86, a resident of Summit, passed away November 20, 2025 at Veteran Medical Center in Jackson, LA. Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 26, at Hartman Jones Funeral Home from 12PM until services at 1PM. Graveside services followed in Hollywood cemetery. Rev. Mike Morris did officiate. Hartman Jones Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.

Bert was a member of Central Baptist Church in McComb and later attended Tangipahoa Baptist Church. He was a United States Air Force Veteran. Bert worked as a welder for the railroad for many years. He enjoyed deer hunting and wood working, along with spending time gardening. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

Bert was born on May 10, 1939, in Summit, to Bert Cockerham, Sr. and Bertha Ellen Vanmatre Cockerham.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Suzanne Hays Cockerham; a brother, and 3 sisters.

He is survived by a brother Billy Cockerham, and a sister Janice Pitts (William). Freddie Everett
