Bonnie Bass Webb 1932 - 2025
Bonnie Bass Webb, 92, crossed into glory at her home on April 20, 2025, surrounded by her family.
She was the third of 6 children born to Leon Korman and Katie (Cobb) Bass on September 5, 1932, in Crosby. She graduated from Crosby High School on May 23, 1950. On July 1, 1950, she married the love of her life, James Edward Webb.
This was the beginning of a beautiful 74 and a half years together.
She made her career as seamstress and shared her knowledge and skills with customers throughout her 29 years of employment at T.G.&Y. and McCory’s.
Upon her retirement, she continued to share her love of sewing, gardening, and cooking with her daughters, granddaughters, and great-granddaughters.
Bonnie was always a phone call away to listen to new ideas or problems. She never hesitated to share her knowledge, wisdom, or secrets for a long happy marriage. In her free time, Bonnie loved to work in her yard, bird watch and spend time with family.
Though she was successful in her career, she would say that her greatest accomplishment began in 1951, when she and James began to build a wonderful family. Little did they know that beginning would transpire into 5 children, 7 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 5 greatgreat-grandchildren. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, mentor, and friend.
Those who passed before her include her husband, James, her beloved of 74-1/2 years; her parents; 2 brothers; 3 sisters; 2 sons, Jimmy Webb and Donald Webb.
Those who remain to share her legacy include daughters: Joan Waller (Jim); Becky Williams (Dennis); Angi Webb (Terri); daughterin-law Vickie Webb; sisters-in-law, Betty Bass and Yvonne Bass; grandchildren Missi Waller; Kim W. Morgan (Charley); Kenny Waller (Chrystal); Whitney Webb; Danny Webb; Kalem Williams (Stephanie); Jessica Levin (Nick); her greatgrandchildren, her great-great-grandchildren and a special caregiver, Latoya Washington.
The Celebration of Bonnie’s life will be Saturday, April 26, at Hartman-Jones with visitation at 1 PM followed by services at 2 PM. Graveside service will be at Hollywood Cemetery. Services will by officiated by Bro. Charley Morgan.
