In a tastefully renovated nineteenth century building on Robb Street in downtown Summit, the Buzy Beez Bookstore, a family owned and operated independent bookstore, has opened with a wide selection of well-curated and thoughtfully selected new and used books. The building is painted a delightful bright blue and the front windows feature bees buzzing amidst honeycomb and open books. The Buzy Beez Bookstore is open Wednesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Closed Sunday to Tuesday.) Next door to the flavorful and popular La Mariposa café ("The Cheers of the South!") and across the street from the iconic Star Drive In, the charming bookstore is a perfect destination to drift to either before or after getting a bite to eat next door or across the street.

In addition to high-quality adult books which include new and used best sellers, fiction, classics, and history, there are also graphic art novels and a large selection of enchanting children's books. The bookstore has lovely stationary, puzzles, and arts and crafts for sale, as well as original and unique gift items. The spacious interior is family friendly with festive murals and quirky paintings on its walls (even a mounted bicycle) with tables for sitting, playing games, and writing or reading and a wide array of eclectic gifts.

Around an inviting white mantle are soft sofas and comfortable chairs reminiscent of sitting in a cozy den, with WIFI available. The area is crafted well as a community gathering place. Owned by Aaron and Marsha Bond, their daughter Isabel Bond runs it in a happy and efficient manner.

Visit the Bookstore at 1014 Robb Street in Summit (and don't forget to partake of some of Mercedes Ricks's tasty food next door while close by). The bookstore has a web site buzybeezbooks.com, an informative Facebook page, and sends a newsletter. Several book clubs meet at the community-centric store (Silent Book Club, Blind Date Book Club) as well as a crochet club.

There are also summer game nights. Anyone seeking a literary and book community in Pike County probably
