Charles Hughes

Charles Hughes was born on October 20, 1966, in McComb, to the late Betty Toney. On June 13, 2026, Charles peacefully departed this life, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Charles was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He was known for his kind heart, generous spirit, and the joy he brought to those around him. His presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

Charles leaves to cherish his memory his children: Charles Hughes Jr., Dekayla (Robert) Jones, and Princess (Melanie) Moore. He was a proud grandfather to Keniya Patterson, Jo'Daisha Swington, Kaysia Allen, Ron Allen, and Cherish Nevaeh Hughes.

He also leaves behind 4 brothers: Michael Hughes, Harold Hargett, Joe Brumfield, and Joseph Brumfield; 1 sister, Mary Toney; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends.

Charles was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Toney; his sister, Tamara Hargett; his grandmother, Bernice Hughes; and his great-grandmother, Mary.

Though our hearts are saddened by this tremendous loss, we find comfort in the memories we shared and the love Charles gave so freely. His legacy will continue to live on through his children, grandchildren, family, and the many lives he touched throughout his journey.
