Curtis Allen Carey

Curtis Allen Carey, 80, a resident of Summit, passed away on February 8, 2026 at his son's residence surrounded by his loving family.

A visitation was held Friday, February 13, at Hartman Jones Funeral Home from 10AM until memorial services at 12PM. His final burial will be in Indianapolis, IN. Hartman Jones Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Curt was born on July 14, 1945 in Lebanon, IN to the late Allen and Virginia Brooks Carey. He was an avid gun and knife collector. He enjoyed shooting for sport and won many competitions. Curt served in the United States Navy and served on the USS Vesuvius during the Vietnam War. He was an avid animal lover, both dogs and cats. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 40 loving years Patricia Carey; and his sister Lottie Bender.

He is survived by his son, Brandon Carey (Cherisse); 4 grandchildren Curtis, Devon, Jonathan, and Breanna; 5 great-grandchildren; 3 nieces Cherylin, Andrea, and Jacque; and 2 nephews Greg and Mike.
