Dixie Nell Canton

Canton 1948 - 2025 Dixie Nell Canton, 76, passed away April 19, 2025 at the Villa South Assisted Living Facility in Florence, MS. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a member of South McComb Baptist Church. Mrs. Canton was a retired nurse and educator with the Mississippi Community College System. She enjoyed visiting with family and shopping with friends. Mrs. Canton was born August 15, 1948 in Magnolia, the daughter of Mervin and Francis Lawson. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 54 years, Gary Canton. Survivors include her 3 children and their spouses: Jason (Bronwyn) Canton, Kerrie Nell (Lamar) Patton, and Orianna (Bo) Dickerson; 8 grandchildren, Eli (Aubree) Canton, Cade (Emily) Canton, Bo (Reagan) Canton, Madison Patton, Hanna Belle Patton, Camryn Dickerson, Skylar Dickerson, Luke Dickerson and 6 great grandchildren. The family wishes to offer a special thanks to Vital Caring Hospice and the entire staff of Villa South. A memorial service is scheduled at Hickory Ridge Baptist Church in Florence, MS on May 3, 2025. Visitation 9AM and service at 10AM. Dorothy L.
