Elva N. Morgan Thompson, 87, of McComb, passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 1, 2025, at her daughter’s residence in Louisville, KY, with her daughter by her side.

Visitation was held on October 6, from 9 AM until 11 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Liberty, MS. Funeral services followed at 11 AM, service provided by Edd Felix. Interment did take place at Blalock Cemetery in Liberty, where Leroy Nevels will offer the dedicatory prayer.

Elva was born on November 16, 1937, in Liberty, the daughter of the late Frank Eugene Morgan and Thelma Jearldene (Welch) Morgan. She retired from AT&T (formerly South Central Bell) after a long and dedicated career as a telephone technician and, as a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints, found lasting joy in her faith and in serving those around her.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-greatgrandmother, and sister. She expressed her creative spirit through writing, gardening, and crafts, but found her greatest joy in the moments she shared with loved ones—especially in spoiling her grandchildren and greatgreat-grandchildren. Her generosity and love touched countless lives, and her legacy will endure through her family and all who cherished her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward J. Thompson; son, Charles W. Reardon; daughter, Rose A. McCullough (Jeff); 3 brothers, Lester Morgan, Alton Morgan, and Mildred Morgan; 5 sisters, Rena Webb-Boudousquie, Marjorie “Onevia” Nevels, Hazel Nevels, Dolly Miller, and Maylene Steele.

She is survived by 2 sons, Brian Keith White (Debbie) and Lance “David” White (Jessie); 2 daughters, Luana Margenthaler (Rick) and Carol C. Hutto (“JR”); 1 brother, Nathan Morgan (Linda); 7 grand-children Marsha I Kinslow (Jeremy), Nicholos Z Westbrook, (Kathy), Karen O Connor, David “Keith” Thompson, Joseph “Joey” L. Thompson (Tashina), Hannah Snow (“Bobby”), and Nikki Moore; 20 great-grandchildren; 4 great-greatgrandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were David White, Brian White, Nicholos Westbrook, Joey Thompson, Keith Thompson, and Valik Thompson.

Honorary pallbearers were Nathan Morgan.

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude.
