As a city of Magnolia resident, we have all witnessed the unreliable warning sirens for severe weather alerts. We now have a better solution!
The Pike County Civil Defense/Emergency Management Agency is rolling out a new capability to warn residents about emergencies such as floods, fires, severe weather, public health alerts, criminal activity and more.
It’s referred to as a Hyper-Reach. A representative from Pike County presented the capability to the Magnolia City Board Tuesday night. The new warning system can also be used by city officials to warn residents about city issues such as boil water notices, road construction, and many other municipal activities which sparked the interest of several Board members.
It’s free, easy, fast and simple. There is a restriction that you must be a Pike County resident. Sign up today.
