Genevieve O'Quin Cutrer, 89, of Kentwood, LA passed away March 13, 2026 at her residence. Visitation was held on March 20, at Greenlaw Baptist Church, Kentwood, from 10AM until services at 12PM. Burial followed at Bluff Springs Baptist Church in Magnolia. Hartman Jones Funeral Home in McComb handled arrangements. Rev. Greg Whitehead officiated.

Mrs. Cutrer was born November 11, 1936 in Pike County, to the late Alton and Wilma O'Quin. As a child she "beat the window seals out" playing the piano, took music in school and was in the choir by age 12 in Progress. She later played at Bluff Springs Church for 15 years, then Greenlaw Church for 23 years until her husband Carl passed in 2022. She spent 15 years teaching area children piano lessons. She was a homemaker and then decided to pursue a career in nursing at SMJC. She worked at SMRMC, Kentwood Nursing Home and St. Mary of the Pines caring for retired nuns until she retired.

Mrs. Cutrer was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 67 years Carl E. Cutrer; brother Talmadge O'Quin; and Sister Eliouse Simmons (Cody).

Survivors include her son Randy Cutrer and his wife Eileen; 3 grandchildren Randall Cutrer, Brandon Cutrer (Brittany), and Susan Daley (Michael); 6 great-grandchildren Blake, Maverick, Brielle, Michala, Conner, and Maranda; 1 sister Narine Knippers (Robert); a special nephew Bill Simmons and numerous other nieces, nephews and relatives.

Pallbearers were Michael Daley, Conner Daley, Mark Hughes, Bobby Dykes, Bill Simmons and Matthew Simeon.
