Janice "Janis" Dale Daix

Janice "Janis" Dale Daix, 44, of Summit, passed away on May 14, 2026 at UMMC in Jackson, MS.

Visitation was held on Saturday, May 23, at Hartman-Jones Funeral Home from 9AM until services at 11AM at the funeral home. Pastor Steve Rimes officiated and burial was in Cook Cemetery in Magnolia. Hartman-Jones Funeral Home of McComb was in charge of arrangements.

Janis was born in McComb, on November 9, 1981. She is the daughter of Elizabeth Cook Farris.

Janis entered into eternal rest with the Lord. Janis was a woman of strong faith who loved the Lord and her family. Though our family path faced earthly complexities, we find solace in knowing she found absolute healing and rest in her heavenly home. She will be sadly missed by those who loved her.

She was preceded in death by stepfather Art Kinsley; 1 brother, Matthew Paul Dunaway; grandfather Willie Cook and grandmother Virginia Cook.

She is survived by her mother; the beloved father of her children, Edwin J. Daix; step-mother, Nancy Kinsley; 1 son Edwin Joseph Daix III; 2 daughters, Sadie Lane Daix and Zoey Helen Daix; 3 brothers, Daniel Althor, Jeffrey Dunaway Jr., and Elijah Rock; 2 sisters, Sarah Meche and Tanya Dunaway; with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Pallbearers were David Quinn, Daniel Althor, Aiden Althor, Robert Hopkins and Luke Hopkins.
