Jerry Simmons

The family will hold a service at a later date. Burial will be held in New Ireland Cemetery. Bro. David Germany will officiate.

Mr. Jerry Simmons, age 85, passed away July 11, 2026.

He was born in Magnolia. He graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University. In his earlier years, he worked for law enforcement and later became an airplane pilot. Mr. Simmons also wrote and published 10 mystery books.

He was a member of Bluff Springs Church of God.

Survivors include his wife: Carolyn Simmons; 1 son: Jay Simmons; 1 brother: Jimmy Ted Simmons; 2 nephews: Eddie Simmons and Jimmy Ted Simmons, Jr.; he is also survived by several great nieces and nephews.

Mr. Simmons was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton and Ione Simmons.
