Lawson 1942 - 2025

Joan Elesha Lawson, 83, of Gillsbug, passed away December 1, 2025 at Lincoln Residential in Brookhaven. Private services only to be announced. Hartman-Jones Funeral Home of McComb is in charge of arrangements. Joan was born on September 4, 1942 in Gillsburg, to the late Edward “Ed” Earnest Lawson and Dalene Hughes Lawson.

Joan was a wonderful, caring, sweet sister and friend. She was very loved by all who knew and cared for her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings Sue White (Bubba), Gwendolyn Bean (Billy) and Paul Lawson (Judy).

She is survived by sisters Mildred Miller (Ray) and Burma Carpenter (Walter); her brother Max Lawson (Kay); and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the nurses and entire staff at Lincoln Residential for their love and compassionate care given to Joan throughout the years. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Gillsburg Baptist Church.
