3rd ANNUAL BREAST CANCER AWARENESS WALK & PROGRAM--- Members of the community walk through Magnolia for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
3rd ANNUAL BREAST CANCER AWARENESS WALK & PROGRAM--- On Saturday, October 18, 2025, Alcorn State University Cooperative Extension Program and the City of Magnolia hosted the Breast Cancer Awareness Walk & Program 2025: “We Still Fight” in downtown Magnolia near the railroad tracks. The 3rd annual event, held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., opened with a prayer by Pastor Yvonne Lewis and a welcome from Mayor Marvin Brumfield, followed by a Breast Cancer Awareness Month presentation by Tracy R. Harness (pictured above left), Area FCS Educator with the Alcorn State University Cooperative Extension Program. Assisting with the event were Valerie Jefferson and Clara Walker. Participants included Magnolia Mayor Marvin Brumfield (center) and Magnolia Police Chief Lamar Cook (right). An Exercise for Life session was led by the Tye-Dye Crew Line Dancers and Edna Boudreaux. The From Awareness to Action: Saving Lives Through Breast Health program was presented by LaToya Cameron, Licensed Nurse Practitioner, followed by a Self-Examinations demonstration by Shelia Conerly-Pickens. The event concluded with the acknowledgment and pinning of breast cancer survivors.
