On Tuesday, April 22, Magnolia Ward 3 voters elected Theresa Weatherspoon as their Alderwoman. A total of 90 in-person election day ballots were cast with 9 validated and counted absentee ballots for a total of 99 ballots counted. There are still 2 absentee ballots that were mailed-in to be validated and counted, but they will not change the results. One affidavit ballot was cast but was rejected because it was determined that the voter did not live in Ward 3. Theresa Weatherspoon received a total of 62 votes to Cheryl Grady’s 37 votes.

Less than 33% of the registered Ward 3 voters participated in this primary.

With the election of Weatherspoon this completes the election of new leadership for the City of Magnolia. Magnolia’s leadership is: Mayor - Marvin Brumfield Ward 1 - Chad Williams Ward 2 -Dorothy Dillon Ward 3 - Theresa Weatherspoon Ward 4 - Joseph Cornacchione Alderman at Large -Darrell Pounds

The Mayor and all Aldermen/Alderwomen will be sworn in on June 30 at 5 PM at Magnolia City Hall. The first official day of duty for the new city leaders is July 1, 2025.
