Mignonne Lewman “Pris” Price has been a lifelong resident of the Summit community. She was born on October 12, 1928 and attended the Summit school system throughout her teens. In 1947, while attending Southwest Community College, she was celebrated as “Miss Southwest.”

She began a family with Wilton Price in Pricedale, before moving to McComb were she and Wilton began the Price Tractor Company as owners and operators.

While supporting Wilton in this business she also began her first love of motherhood. She dedicated her life to the care of her eight children all while supporting the family business that had now moved to Summit.

Many remember Pris from her time working at the “tractor place.”

Still others know her from her ministry involvement at multiple Baptist churches throughout Pike and Lincoln County where she volunteered and worked as a music leader. She ministered through song at many special events, lead adult and children’s choirs, volunteered for outreach and mission services and spread the love of God through those avenues to many in the community.

She was a strong advocate of pray and Bible study. A devoted wife and mother and a dedicated woman of faith. It is the prayer of her family that her rich legacy continues generationally throughout the community she dedicated her life to serve.

She was preceded in death by her parents Charles O. and Mignonne Wilson Lewman; her paternal grandparents O.V. and Minni Lewman; her maternal grandparents Daniel Wilson and Luna Cook; her husband Earl Wilton Price; along with Maryanna Gatlin, Gabriel Seth Hodges, Cynthia Price, and Tim Duck.
