Progress News

The Fall weather is so nice and I wish we could get out in it. Maybe soon, neither of us can drive right now. Losing your independence is not a good thing. We thank God for our children every day because they are always here to help us.

Gene hasn’t had a big change yet, although he does make coffee in the mornings. Now, if I could just get him to eat better.

Steve and Beverly are getting over covid. They were really sick. They still have another week to quarantine. Howard and Sylvia Alford are over it too and back at church. Mr. Hollis Alford had it and quarantined for two weeks and at the age of 94 got over it and is back at church. Thank you God for answering all these prayers.

Tammy Wheeler had Spinal surgery on September 12th. We pray for a successful recovery. She and Allen were back at church Sunday and she is doing better.

On Monday evening there was a paint class in the fellowship hall at Progress. The ladies and some of the men enjoy this.

On September 27th at 10:30 am there was a Pastor Fellowship at Progress with lunch, etc.

I thank Gina Pardue for doing the bulletins for me for a while. I have so much to do right now and it is a blessing to have someone to help me.

Birthday wishes starting in October go to our niece Terry Tiner Duff, Deborah Johnson, & Tyler Lewis 1st; Erin Alford, Jake Easley, Andy Greer, Chandler Johnson, Scott Schilling, & Tammy Simmons 2nd; Steve’s grandson Lincoln Bankston, Wendy Daniels, Jeremiah Llewellyn 3rd; Chad Barron, Martha Brown, Will Laciura, & Dalton Lattimer 4th; Helen Gellar, Dillon Hinton, Taylor Smith, & Denise Windom 5th; Karl Fortenberry, Becky Grafton, & Laura Ory 6th; Gwen Smith 7th; and Kevin Martin on the 8th. Wow! it looks like October is full of birthdays.

Anniversary wishes are for John & Cindy Reid 1st; John & Dora Rushing 5th; Morgan & Mary Fouillard 6th; David & Patricia Gilliam 7th; and Richie & Susan Wheliss on the 8th. Congratulations!

God is faithful, and He will not let you be tested beyond your strength, but with the testing He will also provide the way out so that you may be able to endure it.
