Rachel Rayborn 1962 - 2025
Rachel Rayborn, 62, of Jayess, went to be with the Lord on March 22, peacefully in the comfort of her home.
Rachel was born on May 3, 1962 in Brookhaven, to the late Daniel Webster McCullough Jr. and Charlene King.
Our mother was the type of lady who had a generous heart. She may not have had much to give, but she did not let that stop her from helping people when they needed it. Anyone close to her knew that she was an avid penny shopper and quite enjoyed finding her next bargain. She may not have needed most of the items she would find but she would buy them anyway with the intention of giving them to someone who did need them, that was just her way of trying to help people where she could.
She always said her children were her greatest accomplishments in life. She loved them deeply and unconditionally. Throughout their lives, she made sure they didn’t do without even if that meant she had to. When it came to her grandchildren, it was no different. She was so proud of all of their accomplishments. Each one of them loved their Gammy in their own special way. She will be terribly missed by all her friends and family. Rachel was preceded in death by her parents; and 2 sisters Berniece Davis and Geneva Welch.
She is survived by her 2 children, Anna Wheeler (Carey) and Cory Rayborn (Codie); her 6 grandchildren, Katherine Dear Rimes (Lance), Aubrey Rayborn, Bryson Dear, Caston Rayborn, Madyson Rayborn, and Kinley Rayborn; 2 brothers, Howard McCullough, and Jon McCullough (Elaine); 1 sister, Bonnie Anding (Steve); along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A visitation was held Saturday, March 29, at Hartman Jones Funeral Home from 9AM until memorial services at 11AM. Hartman Jones Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
