Rejoice Dance Academy to Present 'Scooter Mouse & The Teddy Bears' Ballet

Rejoice Dance Academy of McComb, directed by Kristi Draut, will present the ballet of Scooter Mouse and the Teddy Bears on February 10, 2026, at 12:00 P.M., at the Walthall County Library for members of the Walthall Friends of the Library. The Pike-Amite-Walthall Library System will co-sponsor the event with the assistance of children's librarian Andrea Bracey.

Scooter Mouse and the Teddy Bears, written by Alice Rhea Mitchell and illustrated by Sheryl K. Perry, honors the late Mattie Rials and tells of the overnight adventures of Scooter Mouse when the teddy bears spend the night at the library. The ballet features the following cast: Zadie Baughtman as Miss Mattie; Presley Spinks as Scooter Mouse; Reina Bustillo as the little brown bear; Clara Robinson as the dancing bear; Avery Wilson as the baseball bear; and Zander Macon, Daisy Rae Dupas, and Summer Morris as the children in the library.

The members of the Rejoice Dance Academy's Senior Company, with the guidance of Stephanie Furr, choreographed the dances. In addition, the dancers will perform the ballet during February for kindergarten children at Amite School Center, Liberty Elementary, Tylertown Elementary, Dexter Elementary, Salem Elementary, Eva Gordon Lower Elementary, Osyka Elementary, Parklane Academy, Kennedy Elementary, and North Pike Elementary.
