Mr. Robert James Wally III entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior on December 25, 2024, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on May 20, 1948, in McComb, to Gwendolyn McGehee Porter.
He enjoyed camping, travelling, the Southern Miss Golden Eagles, and the New Orleans Saints. He was a devoted follower of Christ, as well as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was a member of North Oxford Baptist Church in Oxford, MS, and was a former member and deacon at South McComb Baptist Church in McComb.
Preceding him in death were his mother, Gwen Porter; his beloved grandparents, Eloise (Andrews) and Aubrey McGehee; and a special aunt and uncle, Bill and Nettie Sones.
Survivors are his wife of 56 years, Barbara (McDaniel) Wally; sons, Robert Preston Wally (Rowena) and Ryan Shelton Wally (Allison); 7 grandchildren, Jordan Wally, Saul David Singson, Hayden Wally, Sophia Wally, Sean Wally, Andrew Wally, and Shelton Wally; 3 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Claudia Parker and Leah Hasselle, and a host of family and friends.
Pallbearers were John Brister, Chris Jordan, Shawn McDaniel, Shelton McDaniel, Saul David Singson, and Hayden Wally.
Honorary pallbearers were Don Brumfield, David Burch, and Lloyd Fleming.
A visitation was held on December 28, at Catchings-Sharkey Funeral Home in Summit, from noon until time of service at 2PM. A graveside service immediately followed at Hollywood Cemetery with Rev. David Millican officiating.
The family requests memorials be made in his name to the American Kidney Fund.
