Serrie L. Smith, 76, a resident of Summit, passed away peacefully at her residence on January 19.
A visitation will be held Friday, January 23, 2026 at the McComb Church of Christ from 9AM until services at 11AM. Bro. Jeff Frank will officiate and burial will be at Hollywood Cemetery. Hartman Jones Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Serrie was born on October 15, 1949 to the late Albin Lee Sims and Mildred Laverne Swilley. Born and raised in Jackson, she graduated from Provine High School and later married Allan, with whom she shared 33 loving years until his passing in 2010. In 1980, they moved to McComb, where they began their journey of owning and operating the Lott Furniture Company. Together, they built the business over the years, becoming a familiar presence in the McComb community and forming many lasting connections through their work. While in McComb, they became members of the McComb Church of Christ. Together, they raised three children: Samantha Lynn, James Daniel, and Morgan Leigh. Known for her unabashed, straight-shooting personality, she spoke her mind with warmth and honesty, leaving an impression on everyone she met. She will be remembered for the life she built with her family and the many relationships formed along the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 33 loving years Allan Smith; and 1 sister Nancy Porter.
She is survived by her 3 children Samantha Dykes, Danny Smith (Megan), and Morgan Dudley (Austin); 4 grandchildren Carsyn Smith, Jeremiah Smith, Cooper Smith, and Virginia Dudley; 2 siblings Evelyn Freeman and Mike Sims (Brenda); and her mother-in-law Barbara Smith.
Pallbearers will be Lee Rhodus, Richard Dodd, Austin Dudley, Jeremiah Smith, Michael Sims, and Kris Smith. Honorary Pallbearers will be Cooper Smith and Jason Moak.
