Sylvia Mona Ham 1941 - 2026 Sylvia Mona Ham, 85, a resident of Smithdale, passed away at her residence on Tuesday, July 21, 2026. A graveside service was held on Wednesday, July 22, at Thompson Baptist Church Cemetery at 10:30AM. The Reverend Jim Bradford and Reverend Robert Netterville did officiate.
Mrs. Ham was born on January 5, 1941 to the late RD Barron and Mildred Wilson Barron. She was a member of Thompson Baptist Church and she loved crocheting, especially making blankets.
She loved her church and the Lord. She also enjoyed the company of her little companion, a miniature Yorki known as Scarlett. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded by her husband of 62 loving years John T.
Ham, Jr. and her brother Michael Barron. Mrs. Ham is survived by 1 son, Chris and wife, Debra Ham; 2 daughters, Tanya and husband, Jay Mellinger, and Tamara and husband, Sean Gill; 8 grandchildren; 12 greatgrandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Chris Ham, Sean Gill, Jay Mellinger, Jessie Mellinger, Jasen Mellinger, and Peter Kettle. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Thompson Baptist Church are requested.
