CATHERINE BROWN Terry’s Creek News

As I begin this column it is with a very heavy sad heart. Last Saturday evening about 6:00 pm, my daughter went to the bathroom. I was in my bedroom, I heard a bump noise. She had not closed the door all the way. As I walked by the door, I saw her laying on the floor between commode and bath tub. I called to her but no answer. I felt for a heartbeat but did not feel one. I called my neighbor Tom Gunther, and he came immediately and he called 911 but she was already gone to Heaven. Just that quick, in the blink of an eye. Other responders arrived very quickly. They worked with her for quite a while but she never revived. Just so quick and your loved one has gone to Heaven.

Visitation and funeral services were held at Hartman-Jones Funeral Home in McComb on Friday. Dr. David Millican officiated. Burial was in the Terry’s Creek Cemetery.

Survivors are 2 daughters and their husbands, Natasha Huhn and husband Kyle Huhn; and Prissy Craft and husband Derek Craft; grandchildren -- Chipper Blanco, Brianna Craft Poe and her husband Noah Poe, and Hunter Craft. Please keep us in your prayers. Thank you to all the responders who came to help. A special thanks to Brian Mullins who made a special trip to check on me to be sure I was okay.

Last Sunday was the time for the 5th Sunday sing and report I heard was that there was some wonderful singing and music. Our local folks were the ones who sang and I heard it was all very good. Bro. Kent Campbell brought a good message. Then after the singing and preaching, everyone gathered into the kitchen for some delicious home cooked food. Was a wonderful day to have been in the House of our Lord.

Monday morning a group of young people and their leaders loaded into the church van and headed to camp for a week. I did not get name of the camp, but am sure there were a lot of excited happy young people. Pray for the leaders and the children as they listen to God’s Word. and Pray for their safety.

Happy Birthday to Deborah Lea July 2. Wishing you a wonderful day.

Derek and Prissy Craft enjoyed a trip to Virginia to celebrate their anniversary. Reported a wonderful time.

Keep Sarah Williams’ daughter Krystal in your prayers as she had to go back into the hospital.

How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving, and tolerant of the weak and strong. Because someday in your life you will have been all of these. (by George Washington Carver)

Start each day by affirming peaceful, contented, and happy attitudes, and your days will tend to be pleasant and successful. KIMBROUGH
